Guests of Honor, Shari and David Shapiro of Lawrence, were the guests of honor; Hindel and Mendy Jesselson of Cedarhurst received the Young Leadership Award; and Chazan (cantor) Joel Kaplan of Far Rockaway was presented with the Community Leadership Award at the 66th annual Congregation Beth Sholom testimonial dinner on March 17.
Founded by Rabbi Gilbert Klaperman in 1950, Congregation Beth Sholom on Broadway in Lawrence, was the first Orthodox shul in Nassau County.
