Five Towns students named to academic lists

Hofstra University unveiled  its dean’s list for the fall semester and 16 Five Towns residents earned the distinguished honor. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to be eligible.

Cedarhurst residents Syed Bukhari, Uriya Sabah and William Ernest Santos were named.

Maria Abdullah, Laura Giannotti, Atara Israel, Daniela Popilevsky, Benjamin Rudgayzer, Joshua Rudgayzer  and Abigail Tepper, all of Hewlett, made the list.

Emma Gartenstein, from Hewlett Harbor, and Adam Argento, of Lawrence, North Woodmere residents Zachary Libal and Michael Senatore, along with Ana Melgar-Giron and Georgelyne Jean-Pierre, both from Woodmere, made the grade.

The Hempstead school also announced its Provost List that recognizes students with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Manmeet Nijjer of Cedarhurst, Alexis Charlton from Inwood, Safa Ilyas of North Woodmere, and Dannah Allen, Matthew Leblanc and Amanda Schorr, all from Woodmere, attained the distinction.

Inwood resident was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania announced its dean’s list for the fall semester and Sofia Barone, Emily Cooperstein, Brianna Kovit, Max May, and Danielle Simon, all of Hewlett, attained a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Hewlett residents Rachel Disler and Nicole Matza were named to the University of Delaware’s dean’s list for the fall semester. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The President’s List for the New York Institute of Technology was unveiled and Steven Berke of Cedarhurst, Levi Fingerer from Lawrence and Cameron Ostrin of Hewlett were among the students named. Berke and Fingerer are majoring in architectural technology, while Ostrin studies architecture. To qualify, a student must achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.7 and complete at least 12 credit hours without any incomplete grades.
