Hewlett lacrosse players earn top honors

After a season when the team captured the Seawane Cup from neighboring rival Lynbrook on March 28, for the first time since 2012, and advanced to the semifinals of the Nassau Class B, seven Hewlett High School boys’ lacrosse team members earned recognition for their performance.


Senior midfielder Alexander Vardaro was named a 2018 All-America and joined teammates Gavin Adler, a senior defender and long-stick midfielder, junior goalie Max May and junior attack Sam Rovner as All-County players.
Junior defender a long-stick midfielder Matthew Weiss was an All-County honorable mention and Ethan Cohn, Robert Levitz and Johnny Miller was named to the All-Conference team.
