Fair Hewlett resident is a classic All-Star

Lacrosse goalie Ava Giugliano is once again part of team that will represent New York state at the Maverik National All-American Lacrosse Classic in Delaware.

Woodmere Middle School seventh-grader Ava Giugliano was named a 2018 Maverik National Lacrosse Classic All-Star and will represent New York state at the Maverik National All-American Lacrosse Classic in Delaware, July 16-19. It’s the third consecutive year that the Hewlett resident and goalie was chosen to play in this tournament.
The lacrosse classic includes top players from across the nation in what is considered a showcase event that is attended by NCAA coaches from every division.
Giugliano, the daughter of Deborah and John Giugliano, also plays for the Long Island Empire Lacrosse Nassau 2023 Green team, which kicked off the summer tournament season with a championship victory at the June 2 Summer Showcase in Bel Air, Md.
