The Hewlett-based Center for Adult Life Enrichment that offers programs, activities, trips and get-togethers for seniors marked another a year of transition with its annual installation of officers — executive board, board of directors and advisory council — at the Atria in Lynbrook on Dec. 13.

Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen administered the oaths of office and added words of support for the 69-year-old organization. “We strive, in the town, to serve along side the Center for Adult Life Enrichment to work together to enhance the lives of those living in the Town of Hempstead,” she said. Gillen also presented CALE with a town citation.

For the first time in 18 years, Georgiana Wolfson was not part of the ceremony. Wolfson, who served as executive director of CALE retired this year and has served as a resource for new Executive Director Lee Gerardi.

Reinstalled Board President Richard Braverman described CALE as a “beacon of light” and thanked the town for its support of the group. To join, visit the center at 37 East Rockaway Road in Hewlett on the campus of Hewlett High School or call (516) 374-4747.
