For the second consecutive year, the Lawrence School District was recognized as one of the best in the nation for music education by the NAMM Foundation. Lawrence is one of 600 districts across the country to be named a Best Communities for Music Education.

The award is given for commitment and dedication to music and the arts as innovative learning opportunities for a well-rounded education. All recipients show “an unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive music education for all students,” according to the foundation.

Supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its roughly 10,400 global members, the foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs.
