New Horizon Counseling Center receives over 700 backpacks from Old Navy

New Horizon Counseling Center received more than 700 backpacks and school supplies for children in need its clinics through a partnership with Old Navy. The counseling center that has a facility in Valley Stream was a long time Five Towns institution known as the Peninsula Counseling Center.

All employees at all the Old Navy stores bought the backpacks and school supplies. Then as part of This Way Ahead, a teen employment initiative, Stacey Engebrethson, district manager in Training of Old Navy in Nassau County and Joseph Delgado, manager at College Point Old Navy, spent an entire day collecting and delivering the backpacks filled with school supplies. New Horizon Counseling Center is a nonprofit mental health and chemical dependency treatment center that provides support to individuals of all ages.
