Mostly Cloudy Research results in medals at Long Island Math Fair

Four Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway High School students were awarded medals for outstanding research at the final round of the Long Island Math Fair at Hofstra University in April. Miriam Kopyto and Amanda Schorr captured silver medals. Erica Hilsenrath and Efrat Neumann brought home bronze medals.
Kopyto researched the construction of n - gons and Schorr conducted research in knot theory. Hilsenrath investigated the cardinality of numbers, and Neumann researched fractals. All four students worked with their mentor, Neil Bernstein, HAFTR’s math department chairman.
