Rockin’ and wrappin’ with the Joke Man

Rock and Wrap It Up!’s chief executive officer and founder Syd Mandelbaum attended the book release for Jackie “The Joke Man” Martling’s book “Bow to Stern” at the Friars Club in Manhattan on Oct. 27.

Martling, a native of East Norwich, is known to many as the former head writer for The Howard Stern Show, a job he held from 1983 to 2001. The stand-up comedian, writer, radio personality, author and actor graduated from Oyster Bay High School in 1966 and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University five years later.

Rock and Wrap It Up! is a Cedarhurst poverty think tank that aims to reduce humankind’s carbon footprint and fights hunger by collecting unused food from sports events and music concerts, and helps distribute it to organizations that feed those in need.
