Lawrence Elementary School students — third through fifth grades — once again took part in the annual service-learning project Operation Gratitude conducted by the Student Council and overseen by teacher Jennifer Talenti.

Left over candy from Halloween was collected by the children and filled 22 boxes that will be sent to United States military personnel that are stationed overseas. Third grade teacher Kathleen McDonough initiated LES’s project. Through Dr. Glen’s Happy Teeth, the pediatric dentistry practice of Dr. Glen Shanock in Long Beach the candy will be first shipped to California.
