The Cedarhurst Senior Center in Village Hall at 200 Cedarhurst Ave. in Cedarhurst is one of the Town of Hempstead’s designated cooling centers and it will be open until 4:30 p.m. through July 22 to help those at-risk to stay cool during this stretch of hot weather.

“Heat and humidity can present health risks, especially for mature residents and people who have certain health conditions,” said Town Supervisor Anthony Santino. “By visiting one of our cooling centers, neighbors can cope with the heat and enjoy the company of neighbors.”
