North Woodmere resident joins Eastern Union Funding

North Woodmere resident Steve Cohen has joined Eastern Union Funding, a commercial real estate mortgage brokerage firm with offices in New York, New Jersey and Maryland, as senior vice president.

Cohen has executed more than $3 billion in loans in the last four years of his career. He will join the deal team headed by the firm’s founder and president, Ira Zlotowitz.

“Steve has the experience, talent and meticulous attention to detail that will make him a valuable member of my deal team at Eastern Union Funding, helping us execute a huge volume of transactions at the very highest level of service,” Zlotowitz said in a news release. “Steve understands a deal from every angle, and brings the kind of team mentality we are seeking — where we work together to deliver the best results for our clients and enable us to increase the production of our team.”

Cohen, 31, has a professional background in commercial real estate, having begun his career as a commercial mortgage brokerage. He graduated summa cum laude in finance from Touro College and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Baruch College.
