The Seaford School District would like to congratulate English Teacher Tania Cintorino for being selected as this year’s High School Teacher of the Year earlier this month.

Cintorino is a dedicated professional who has devoted her life to working with young people, school officials noted. She goes above and beyond on a daily basis for her students and has their best interests at heart at all times. She truly loves to share her experiences, knowledge and time to make their learning experience the best possible. Cintorino is described as an open-minded educator, willing to develop new ideas and keep her students engaged. With this type of approach to her enormous responsibilities as a professional, it is no surprise that her students’ results on the Advanced Placement Language and Composition and English Regents exams were perennially strong.

Cintorino is also the co-advisor to student council and freshmen buddies, two student-run organizations dedicated to the good of the school community. Through these, and other involvements, Cintorino is responsible in helping students coordinate highly successful annual blood, food, toy and clothing drives, as well as mentoring experiences for the entire freshmen class.

Cintorino is not only a dedicated teacher but also a very caring individual. She relates well to all students as well as fellow teachers and faculty. She is a true credit to the Seaford School District and to the education profession.
