The 17th annual North American Board of Rabbis American-Jewish/German High School Youth Exchange Program will take place from June 24 to July in Berlin.

An informational meeting for students 16 to 18 and their parents is being held on Monday, April 23 at 6 p.m., at Temple Israel of Lawrence, at 140 Central Ave., in Lawrence.

The Junior Ambassador program is a partnership between North American Board of Rabbis, the Evangelisches Gymnasium Zum Grauen Kloster, a renowned Berlin high school and exchange partner for the past 10 years, and the Foreign Ministries of Israel and Germany.

Many participants have been helped in gaining admission into the college of their choice through the experience that shows they are citizens of the world, have leadership abilities and understand the need to be knowledgeable about multiple cultures.

Students are hosted by the family of a student at the Berlin school. In turn, the German students will visit Long Island in March of next year. These families represent the professional, business and cultural elite of Berlin, the capital city of Germany.
