Two people shot in Elmont, police say

Nassau County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Elmont.

According to detectives, two men were standing outside of a home on 238th Street and 117th Avenue, when another man shot both victims with a handgun at approximately 5:15 a.m. on May 22.

The first victim, a 26-year-old, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and leg. The second victim, a 28-year-old was shot in his abdomen. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they are listed in serious but stable condition.

The shooter was wearing a light colored jacket and a baseball hat.
