Suffolk County Police arrested John Gonzalez, 43, of Franklin Square, and 11 other men for their roles in a cocaine and marijuana trafficking ring in Mastic-Shirley. Police say that Gonzalez, along with Michael Meurer, 39, of Miller Place, was a leader of the ring.
Suffolk County District Attorney Tom Spota said that Muerer, who supplied drugs to dealers across the county, ran the ring from his home and would receive the drugs from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez was arraigned Sept. 5 in Riverhead and charged with operating at a major drug trafficker. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
