The West Hempstead/Franklin Square Association of Girl Scouts were honored on May 31 at an awards ceremony for various area troops. The awards were held to honor the junior, cadette and senior Girl Scouts who have earned bronze, silver and gold awards, respectively. The girls were recognized for their service to the community and presented with Citations of acknowledgment.
