Police: Queens man robbed Elmont Metro PCS store at gunpoint

Nassau County Police arrested a Queens man for allegedly robbing a cell phone store at gun point in Elmont, twice in two months.

According to detectives, Shane Williams, 25, of Cambria Heights, entered the Metro PCS store on Elmont Road, armed with a handgun, on Friday Aug. 5 at 2:02 p.m. and Friday Sept. 2 at 2:25 p.m. He approached the store clerks and demanded cell phones and cash. The victims handed the merchandise over and Williams fled the scene on foot with the proceeds, police said. There were no injuries reported.

Following a further investigation, detectives led to the arrest of Williams on Friday Sept. 2 at 4:45 p.m. The police have not disclosed any further details. Williams is charged with two counts of Robbery and two counts of Possession of a dangerous weapon. He was arraigned on Sept. 3 in First District Court in Hempstead.
