East Rock, Lynbrook residents begin to dig out
Snow still blowing on Friday morning as people clear paths for cars, pedestrians
Residents started to dig out from the first snowfall of the season early Friday morning.
Many people stayed home, while others were on a work delay and were not expected to be in until noon. And others decided to take a long weekend.
"I don't feel safe on the roads," said Ginny Pentavo, of East Rockaway. "And it's Friday..."
Local stores were open on time, including CVS on Ocean Avenue, which opened its doors at 7 a.m., thanks to the shoveling work of employee and East Rockaway resident April Ragusa.
