Two men suspected by police of illegal drug distribution

As part of the Long Island Heroin Initiative, Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives report the arrests of two Hempstead men that occurred on Monday, May 25, at 10:15 p.m. in Hempstead.

According to detectives, Reginald Thorton, 22, of Ingraham Street, acting in consort with Daquan McCall, 21, of Linden Place, while on Ingraham Street, sold Oxycodone to another person. Subsequent to the arrest a loaded handgun was found inside their vehicle.

Thorton is being charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

McCall is being charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Both defendants were to have been arraigned on Tuesday, May 26 in First District Court, Hempstead.
