Sophomores, juniors and seniors at West Hempstead High School gathered on May 23 to welcome back graduates for a “Business Alumni Day” workshop.
Divided into three sessions, the students met with alumni to discuss life after high school. Returning students ranged from recent graduates to established professionals in their fields. Current students, including the groups’ moderators, were able to ask them questions, and the alumni shared their experiences in college, internships, first jobs and professional careers.
Along with gaining insight on life after high school, the current students learned about specific fields such as nursing, accounting and marketing, to help guide their postsecondary decisions.
