Central Nassau Rotary Club's inaugural 50/50 Art Show support local artists

Posted

The Central Nassau Rotary Club held their first-ever 50/50 Art Show at the Franklin Square VFW Post 2718 on Feb. 24. The art show featured art for sale from local members of the community, and half the proceeds from the sales went to benefit the artist and owners of the works while the other half went to the rotary club.
The show included paintings, drawings, digital art prints and handcrafted ceramics. Although the art show focused on the original works of local artists, the event was also open for residents looking to sell previously bought art pieces.
The Central Nassau Rotary Club is a community organization that provides assistance to local projects and nonprofits in Franklin Square and West Hempstead, including donating to the Hempstead Soup Kitchen and various battered women’s shelter. Following the success of the art show, rotary club officials said they might hold more them in the future.
Anyone looking to purchase local artwork featured at the art show can contact the rotary club’s Rony Kessler at ronyrotary@aol.com.
