Elmont man arrested for heroin possession

Nassau Police said they arrested an Elmont man, Shalik D. Robinson, 38, of Opal Street at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Elmont after detectives from the Narcotics/Vice Squad, in conjunction with the Nassau County COPE unit, conducted a joint investigation on heroin sales in that community.  

This investigation began in May 2017. With a search warrant for Robinson's home, detectives recovered such items including substances believed to be heroin and crack cocaine, thousands of empty glassine wax bags, two digital scales and an undetermined amount of U.S. currency.

Robinson is charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance.  

He was arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
