Cricket game at the park

On July 3, the FCNY cricket club will be holding their championship game at the Valley Stream State Park at 2 p.m. Fans are more than welcome to attend the game and the prize giving ceremony.

July 4 fireworks at Firemen’s Field

The Village of Valley Stream will be holding their 26th annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show with entertainment before the show at Firemen’s Field. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and will close at the coordinator’s discretion. Tickets are available in advance for $8 at Hendrickson Pool, Village Hall and the Henry Waldinger Memorial Library, and are available at the door for $10. Children under the age of 2 are free. Chess club for kids in Elmont

The Elmont Memorial Library will be holding a chess club on July 6 at 7 p.m. for children entering fourth- through sixth-grade in September. Tribute to the ‘Boss’

Tramps Like Us, the acclaimed tribute band, visits Eisenhower Park, on Monday, at 7:30 p.m., for an evening of music devoted to Bruce Springsteen. Pop culture celebrities visit Eternal Con

Super heroes, WWE stars and many other special guests will be on hand to meet and greet fans at the latest edition of Eternal Con, Saturday and Sunday, July 1-2. Now in its fifth year, Long Island’s pop culture convention, which now moves to Nassau Coliseum, features many events, including “Youngling Training,” where kids can join New York Jedi instructors in a supervised training session to learn basic Light Saber techniques.
