The search for missing Westbury teenager Louis Germosen continues after police finished up looking at Hempstead Lake State Park last week.

“We conducted a search … and found nothing,” Tony Astacio, commanding officer of the state park police, said Monday. Nassau County Police said that the search at the park finished up last Friday but that the investigation is still active. They did not wish to specify where they are searching.

New York state, state park and Nassau police began searching the park on July 8 for the 19-year-old, who had been missing since June 28. County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said on July 9 that roughly 40 officers were involved in searching water dense with plants.

Germosen was last seen by his mother leaving his Westbury home before a friend dropped him off in West Hempstead at a Roosevelt Avenue house that he often went to, according to his father, Luis.

Luis said that his son’s cousin Jason received an anonymous text message on July 8 saying the family should “check pond thoroughly,” referring to Schodack Pond, off Peninsula Boulevard south of Hempstead Lake, on the border of Rockville Centre and West Hempstead.

In addition to providing two additional West Hempstead addresses near the park, the sender wrote, “Good luck God bless.”
