With balloons and signs creating a colorful, welcoming gateway, The Brandeis School on Frost Lane in Lawrence said hello to a new school year on Sept. 4.

During the last school year, Brandeis, founded in 1930, expanded its STEM, science, technology, engineering and match offering throughout the curriculum from nursery to eighth grade.

Head of School Raz Levin, who has been at Brandeis since 2001, stresses that everyone at the school is part of a family. Levin has been a teacher and an assistant principal before being promoted to his current position in 2012.
