Residents were cleaning up and preparing for frigid temperatures late Friday after the first storm of the season left the area.

Captain Nick Gargano and an assistant shoveled snow from the deck of the Freeport Princess docked on the Nautical Mile.

Owner Frank Rizzo said the deck had to be cleared of snow to avoid it turning to water and then ice. "We're worried about tonight" he said, referring to the single digit forecast for Friday night.
