End of summer concert on the Esplanade

As the sunset on Aug. 31, the end of summer could be felt as the East End Trio played rock classic songs. For the last five Thursday nights since the lasts week of July, the Arts Council at Freeport held the 17th annual Sunset Summer Concerts at the Nautical Mile’s Esplanade off Woodcleft Avenue.

The free concerts included classical music performances by Classical Strings; an elcetic mix of rock, pop and folk with The Bionic Babes. The Freeport youth participating in the Freeport Recreation Center’s Broadway and You program shared their acting and singing skills with a performance of “Grease is the Word.” The summer closed with a performance of the East End Trio who played classic rock songs through the evening.
