The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce’s annual community honors and installation of officers ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Elks’ Lodge, 57 Hempstead Ave., in Lynbrook.
In addition to installing its new officers, the chamber will honor three Lynbrook residents, including recently retired Lynbrook Police Chief Joseph Neve, Brian Lanzello of Lanzello Remodeling and Lynbrook Titans Football and Brian Fern of Pearsall’s Station Restaurant. Neve retired from his position on Nov. 29 after 41 years in the Lynbrook Police Department and 27 as its chief. Longtime LFD officer Brian Paladino took over as chief.
Stephen Wangel will be installed as the new president, taking over for Carol Burak, who served in that role for the last two years, and will retire from the chamber’s board of directors along with Bill Gaylor in 2019.
“This is an exciting time to be the president of the chamber,” Wangel said at Monday’s village board meeting. “I’ve never seen this much activity and civic pride since I moved into Lynbrook in 1987. … I look forward to working with my board and all the civic organizations in making Lynbrook an even better place to work, live and shop.”
Tickets for the event cost $75 per person or $675 for a table of 10, and can be purchased online through eventbrite at bit.ly/2ClhGiW.
