East Rockaway High School seniors walked away with the coveted Rock Rivalry Silver Cup on March 15.

This year marked the 83rd annual event, which encourages friendly competition between grade levels as the students put on performances in the qust for the Cup. Students earned points for various components of their entrances and for sportsmanship, and school alumni judged the event.

The class earned the trophy for its performance of “Mastermimes.” The performance detailed the adventures of an American tourist who gets kidnapped by mimes who need her help to unleash their evil plan in France.

Other performances included “Winner Takes it Y’all,” a story put on by the freshman class about a young girl navigating 1960s Nashville; “Zeus on the Loose,” which was acted out by the sophomores and portrayed a history teacher who brought the Greek gods to life; and “A Liege of Their Own,” by the junior class, which focused on the unification of mystical creatures.
