Kids work the dough at Chabad of the Five Towns challah bake
Before getting started kneading the dough, Ava Abromov, left, 10, Aden Carucci, 8, Jaden Abrahov and Jordan Carucci, both 11, appeared to had fun putting on gloves at the Mega Challah and Babka Bake.
To help ensure their challahs and babkas will come out well made, the ‘bakers’ took part in the dough-rising dance.

Children from 5 to 13 kneaded, manipulated and molded the dough needed to make the traditional Jewish bread — challah — at the Mega Kids Challah and Babka Bake at The Brandeis School in Lawrence on Feb. 3.
Sponsored by the Cedarhurst-based Chabad of the Greater Five Towns, kids from schools in the Five Towns also learned how to make babka, described as sweet yeast cake or potato pie under the watchful of friends and family members.
