A shave and a cut for Island Park
Penny Frondelli/Herald
The staff and customers of Montaage helped raise $3,000 for Sandy relief for Island park. Mayor James Ruzicka is pictured here at the center.

Salon Montaage in Oceanside held a cut-a-thon fundraiser last weekend to benefit the people of Island Park.

Montaage was offering discounts on cuts for men, women and children to help raise money for the Island Park Fund. There were raffles and giveaways sponsored by many local businesses. And restaurants from the area provided free food to the staff and those who were participating. Amitrano’s of Rockville Centre, Mi Posto, Pasetti’s on the Woods, Spring Garden, Bagel Boss of Oceanside and DeCoco’s of Island Park all donated food.

At the end of the day, Montaage raised about $3,000 for the Island Park fund.

Although I have called and asked to have this article corrected, it hasn't changed. Please note that the Cut-A-Thon was given by both Hair Expo and Montaage. Everyone who participated worked very hard and deserves to have full recognition. I hope in the future more careful considerationwill be given to the information printed.
