Island Park native Anthony Bitetto has accepted a one-year, two-way contract with the Nashville Predators worth $665,500 at the NHL level and $60,000 at the AHL level. Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile made the announcement July 13.

The 24-year-old Bitetto played seven games for the Nashville team in January and February and spent the rest of the season playing for the AHL Milwaukee Admirals, where he ranked second among club blueliners in points.

Nashville’s fourth choice, 168th overall in the 2010 Entry Draft, Bitetto did not miss a game during a two-year collegiate career at Northeastern University from 2010 to 2012 where he was named to the 2011 Hockey East All-Rookie Team, compiling 35 points in 72 games, and helped the Indiana Ice win the 2009 Clark Cup as United States Hockey League champions.
