A fatal heroin overdose in Malverne on Dec. 22, and a non-fatal overdose in Valley Stream the next day, led Nassau police to the arrest of four people for the sale and possession of heroin on Monday, Dec. 26 in Port Washington, Valley Stream and Woodside, Queens.

On Monday evening, Dec. 26 at an undisclosed location in Port Washington, Nassau police detectives purchased heroin from Jacklyn Seitz, 21, of 237 Doris Avenue, Franklin Square and Ata Korkut, 26, of the same address. Later the same night at 8:50 p.m. at an undisclosed Valley Stream location, police were able to purchase heroin again from Seitz and Korkut, who were with Scott Moser, 28, of 460 Rockaway Ave. in Valley Stream. All three were placed under arrest without incident.

During the arrest, additional information was obtained from the three, and at 10:55 p.m. the same night in Woodside, Queens, a "buy & bust” operation led to the arrest of Jemaly Thelusma, 27, of 102-21 187th Street, Hollis, Queens, who was in possession of 130 glassine envelopes of heroin at the time.

Seitz and Korkut are both being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Moser is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal facilitation.

Thelusma is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance

All defendants were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Dec. 27.
