Students at Island Park’s Francis X. Hegarty School Recently participated in

No Name Calling Week. Several activities were conducted to teach youngsters how to best handle difficult social situations by expressing their feelings, intervening to help a classmate, or removing themselves from a potential conflict. Each student signed a pledge, promising not to bully or make derogatory comments to others. From kindergarten through fourth grade, students participate in a variety of programs and activities designed to develop their social skills and promote a sense of community.
