It’s a day of celebration when the Island Park Faculty Association and the School District hold their scholarship fundraiser at Lincoln Orens School.
For the past six years the district has promoted community pride and spirit by host the annual Community Day. Several hundred children, their parents, and Island Park residents attended this year’s event on June 11.
The day featured a variety of outdoor activities for children including face painting, Bubble Soccer, inflatable slide, jump room, and the ever-popular dunk tank. There were plenty of refreshments including hamburgers and hot dogs, soda and cotton candy. The Island Park Faculty Association also sponsored several raffles and held its annual Alumni vs. Faculty basketball game.
The event raised more than $10,000 for the Faculty Association Scholarship Fund, which each year awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Island Park.
