Island Park honors firemen

On May 2, the Island Park Fire Department held its Annual Michael R. Masone Installation of Chiefs and Officers. Chief Ed Madden was sworn in as Chief of Department. Island Park Mayor Michael McGinty swore in deputies, James Sarro, James Miotto, and Anthony D’Esposito.

Chief D’Esposito was honored for his two years as Chief of Department and in a very special presentation, and given the badge of Michael R. Masone by former Chief Michael Gagliardi and former Captain Garrett Gorton on behalf of the Masone family. The badge presented was the actual badge worn by Chief Masone during his tenure in the Island Park Fire Department.

D’Esposito also swore in Butch Yamali as an honorary Chief of the Island Park Fire Department in appreciation for his dedication, commitment, and generosity.
