Keeping Christmas in Island Park

County Executive Ed Mangano spoke to the crowd and to the student chorus from Francis X Hegarty. All students in the chorus are members of the student council and were led by their music teacher, Mrs. Sambolin.

Chief Steve Ruscio and Mayor James Ruzika spoke to the crowd about how wonderful and resilient the community has been since Hurricane Sandy.

Colleen Reichel checked out the many toys at the Island Park Fire Department holiday celebration.

Sweet season Valentina Boncina, 3, grabbed a doughnut at the holiday party hosted by the Island Park Fire Department. There were plenty of sweets and toys for kids to make the holidays special.

On Dec. 21, Island Park came together to make sure the community had a happy holiday season. The Island Park Fire Department hosted a holiday celebration for the community.

Students from the Francis X. Hegarty Elementary School sang carols, there was food to enjoy and there were donated toys for children. County Executive Edward Mangano came to the celebration, as did New York Secretary of State Cesar Perales.
