Four friends wanted to go to Adventureland, the ride and arcade park on Broad Hollow Road in Farmingdale, but they lacked the funds. Undaunted, Lilly Vazquez, Mikayla Smith, Jarianna Tanon, and Sterlyn Tanon opened a lemonade for $1 stand on Long Beach Road in Island Park.

“Adventureland, we really want to go this summer, so we told our parents, they said yeah, and we started making it [lemondade],” Vazquez said. They needed $60, made $74, and are going to Adventureland this week. “We just felt we could do this ourselves,” she said.
