The population of the Village of Island Park in 2014, according to the U.S. Census, is estimated at 4,736, up from 4,661 in 2013, and living in 1,862 housing units and 1,255 speak a language other than English at home. The Census Bureau’s Population Estimates Program (PEP) produces estimates of the population for the United States, its states, counties, cities, and towns, as well as for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its municipios. Demographic components of population change (births, deaths, and migration) are produced at the national, state, and county levels of geography. Additionally, housing unit estimates are produced for the nation, states, and counties.

These estimates are used in federal funding allocations, as survey controls, as denominators for vital rates and per capita time series, and as indicators of recent demographic changes. With each new release of annual estimates, the entire time series of estimates is revised for all years back to the last census.

The median household income is $64,974 with 11.1 percent of village residents living below the poverty line.

Most Island Park students graduate high school or higher, 90.1 percent and 24.7 percent have a bachelor’s degree. Only 11 percent have no health insurance. There are 236 veterans living in the village. It takes the average Island Park resident 30 minutes to get to work.

In Oceanside the median income is $96,200, with 4 percent living below the poverty level. 93 percent graduate high school or better and 42.3 percent have a bachelor’s degree or higher. Only 5.5 percent are have no health insurance. There are 11,339 housing units in Oceanside. 85.9 percent of the population is white, 1.3 percent black, 2.7 percent Asian, .1 percent native American, and 9.2 percent Hispanic.

Some other interesting facts as of 2013: 95.9 percent are living in the same house for one year and more with 2.77 people per household. 11.9 percent of the population is foreign born, and 16.5 percent speak a language other than English at home. There are 1,574 veterans living in Oceanside.
