Overcast Police investigate Island Park accident

Five people were taken to area hospitals after an accident on Austin Boulevard in Island Park.

Nassau County police and the Island Park Fire Department responded to a single car accident on Austin Boulevard in front of the King Kullen shopping center on May 21. According to Fire Chief Anthony D’Esposito there were six people in the car, four were taken by ambulance to South Nassau Communities Hospital, and one was airlifted to North Shore University Hospital with a severe laceration to his arm. One person refused treatment.
According to police reports a single SUV hit a divider and flipped over. The occupants in the car were reported to be from Elmont.
