School shootings leave communities heartsick

We own the guns in this country, and we own the problem. More people are shot to death every year in America than in Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and a dozen other countries combined. Now we can add 28 more of those deaths to the list.

We must make our leaders fight for tougher gun laws. That is the one positive step we can take, as soon as we can take any step at all. As soon as we summon our strength.

Maybe tomorrow, when the second hand moves again.

Today the clocks are stopped.
