The Island Park PTA held its annual plant sale on May 7 and 8. The students at Hegarty Elementary and Lincoln Orens Middle schools had the opportunity to purchase flowers, plants, vegetables and hanging flower baskets for Mother’s day. Flowers were also donated to the Green Club and the Builder’s Club to help with beautification projects at each school. The money raised goes to help fund “Earth Day” assemblies at each school. The PTA works to bring educational and cultural arts programs to the schools, as well as paying for other events at the schools; summer reading books, refreshments at all school functions, student of the month and other things.
