An Old Brookville man was arrested on Jan. 1 in connection with two thefts in Oceanside from early 2017.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, Neil Lamorte, 55, was charged with stealing a chandelier — of unknown value — on Feb. 17, 2017, and two Kate Spade handbags — valued at $280 — on March 28, 2017.

In both incidents, Lamorte allegedly parked his white Ford Edge across from the homes, walked to the front door, took the packages from outside the homes, placed them in his vehicle and drove away, according to police.

He was arrested on Jan. 1 at 10:15 p.m. at his home, and charged with two counts of petit larceny. He was issued an appearance ticket and will be arraigned on Feb. 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
