Florida couple arrested for loaded semi-automatic handgun

Nassau County First Squad detectives arrested a Florida couple at 11:23 p.m. on July 16 during a routine patrol. According to detectives, they observed a 2018 Dodge Charger traveling northbound on South Ocean Avenue. The couple, Tamika Hicks, 32 and Devan Hall, 29 was stopped at South Ocean Avenue and Ray Street.

During the investigation, the officer smelled a strong marijuana odor coming from the car. The officer searched the vehicle and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The couple was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon second degree loaded firearm outside home, criminal possession of a weapon third degree ammunition feeding device, and criminal possession of a weapon fourth degree. They were arraigned July 17 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
