A 28-year-old man died on Saturday after falling out of a moving limo bus in Baiting Hollow, Riverhead police said.

The incident took place at 1:21 p.m. When police arrived, they found Alex Levy, of Oceanside, on the road and in need of medical assistance. It was determined that he was a passenger on a limousine-style bus that was traveling westbound and that he had somehow fallen out of it. The driver remained at the scene when police arrived.

Levy was assisted at the scene by a medical team and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment, where he died. The investigation is ongoing, but the incident was initially deemed to be accidental.

Levy spent many years working at Sunrise Day Camp, starting in 2010 as a Stormers counselor and then advancing to its assistant unit head, according to a release by the camp. In 2017, he started a career as a teacher, but still made time to come to the camp in his spare time to bring smiles to children's faces and serve as a leader and role model.

Funeral services for Levy were scheduled for Wednesday at Gutterman’s Funeral Home, 175 N Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.

The Levy family has requested that any donations be made payable to Sunrise Day Camp – Long Island and mailed to:
