If you're looking to become a boxer or kickboxer (amateur or professional), burn fat and tone up, or enroll your child in a unique activity, Kayo Boxing is something to consider. It is owned and operated by USKBA middleweight champ Michael Corleone.
Corleone’s career in boxing and kickboxing started at age 15 in 1992, when he fought against a national Puerto Rican Champion as a last-minute replacement. At that time, he was not even ranked as an amateur, but was discovered in a gym by a well-known trainer, who offered him money to fight. His success in that match started his professional legacy. Over the years, he won numerous titles in three different weight classes. His fights have been covered by ESPN, HBO and Showtime.

All the instruction at Kayo Boxing is done under the supervision of Corleone himself, with the help of his assistants. So, child or adult, male or female, you’ll be training with a professional. The facility and its trainers are certified by USA Boxing.
Fundamentals of boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai are offered at Kayo, and training is done privately, in group classes, and/or in boot camp. Students learn with jump ropes, focus pads and various types of boxing bags. In addition, being able to practice in a professional boxing ring, participants have access to Heavy Bags, Speed Bags, Muay Thai Bags, and Uppercut Bags.
Children’s classes start at age eight. They are not hit or taught be a bully, but to learn self-respect and improve self esteem. “I believe boxing is based on the use of the brain, not the muscles. It’s not about hurting someone,” Corleone said.
In business for 14 years, Kayo Boxing was originally inside Gold’s Gym, and then in Synergy, both in Garden City Park. Now in its own facility, Kayo Boxing is located next to Taco King Mexican Grill in West Hempstead, and open seven days a week, with evening hours.
