Lynbrook outscored Long Beach at even strength in their Nassau Class B boys’ lacrosse playoff quarterfinal matchup at Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium on May 16, but the Marines were a perfect 4-for-4 in man-up situations and also scored shorthanded on the way to an 8-4 victory.

Seventh-seeded Long Beach entered the Nassau Class AA softball playoffs struggling on offense and mired in a three-game losing streak, but came out swinging in last Friday’s opening-round matchup against No.10 Hicksville and scored four runs on six hits in the first three innings.
