“You can’t have a hospital without a 911-ambulance receiving emergency room, so I’m working with the Health Department to make sure we get a 911-receiving ER,” Weisenberg said. “People are saying to me, ‘why can’t you do this?’ I don’t have the ability to move the bankruptcy process along. There are real estate and all kinds of assets that have to be evaluated, but South Nassau are anxiously waiting to get in there to provide the resources necessary to meet the needs of our community.”
