L.B. firefighters rescue driver from overturned vehicle

Long Beach firefighters responded to an overturned vehicle on Saturday, at the intersection of Monroe Boulevard and East Walnut Street.

According to the Fire Department’s Facebook page, firefighters responded to the scene at 1:04 p.m., and residents were advised to avoid the area as rescue crews attempted to extricate the driver of the vehicle.

Firefighters removed the driver of a white SUV within 10 minutes. The driver was taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital with minor injuries, according to the LBFD. The cause of the accident was not disclosed. The operation was led by Fire Chief Richard Corbett.
